Early stage design on N59 second phase in west Mayo

PHASE two of the N59 upgrade project at Derrada is in the early stages of design.

Councillor Paul McNamara has queried where that project is at, asking that it be fast-tracked and put out to tender as soon as possible to follow on from phase one. If it coincided with the works that are currently going on it would reduce delays on the route over the coming years, he said.

Councillor McNamara was told phase two is starting to work through the process and is at the early stages of design.

It will not follow immediately through after Derrada but it may not be too far behind it.
