Mayo community mourns death of much-loved personality
The death has taken place of Teresa Smyth (née Guthrie), Turlough Road, and late of McHale Road, Castlebar.
A member of an old and respected Castlebar family, she died peacefully earlier today at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
News of her passing has evoked a huge sense of loss in the community where she was held in high regard.
Predeceased by her parents Bridget and Chas, she is deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Iain, daughters Lorna (McGreal), Jennifer (Kelliher) and Sarah, brothers Francis and Joe, sister Marie (Burke), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law Cormac and Shane and Sarah’s partner Rory, grandchildren Finn, Fiadh, Cian, Sorcha and Niall, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Teresa will repose in Kilcoyne's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, tomorrow (Sunday) from 4 to 6 p.m.
Funeral cortége will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Monday morning for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m.
Teresa will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
