Tributes to 'inspirational' Mayo man Tom Tracey on his passing

The death of Tom Tracey, Killawalla, Westport, has evoked a tremendous sense of loss.

A member of the staff of Mayo University Hospital for many years, tributes have described the deceased as 'a lovely, kind and helpful gentleman'.

A further tribute stated: "Words will not describe the loss of Tom.

"A great husband, father and an inspiration to all that he came in contact with."

Tom was also a great community volunteer in Killawalla.

He is deeply regretted by his wife Mary, family Ann (Thomas), Liam (Paul), Caitriona (Christian) and Malia, sisters Ann (Pat) and Bernie (Olover), brother Fr. Michael, brother-in-law Michael Martin, hrandchildren, Sarah, Joseph, Johannes, Evelyn and Molly, nieces, nephews, relatives, work colleagues and a large circle of friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary, and his sister Eileen.

Reposing at Killawalla Community Centre on Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m.

Requiem Mass takes place on Tuesday morning in St. Patrick's Church, Killawalla, at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
