Last chance to nominate Mayo AXA Community Heroes
The people of Mayo are being urged to make last-minute nominations for the AXA Community Hero Awards, with the deadline closing at 4 p.m. on Monday, January 5.
The nationwide initiative celebrates individuals who go above and beyond in their communities, with a total charities’ prize fund of €80,000 on offer. Four Community Heroes will be selected, each receiving €20,000 for a charity of their choice.
Nominations are open in four categories: Road Safety, Mental Health, Women’s Safety and Wellbeing, and Sustainability.
Members of the public are invited to nominate someone who has shown exceptional leadership, innovation or creativity in supporting others. Submissions can be made online at www.axa.ie
in 150 words or less, outlining how the nominee has made a positive impact in their community.
Elizabeth Arnett, Chief Communications, Brand and Sustainability Officer at AXA Ireland, said while strong nominations have already been received, many unsung heroes remain unrecognised.
“We know there are people working tirelessly in Road Safety, Mental Health, Women’s Safety and Wellbeing, and Sustainability that we have not heard from yet,” she said. “With just days left, we’re encouraging everyone to nominate these remarkable individuals and let them know their hard work is appreciated.”
Mick Comerford, Direct Retail Director at AXA Ireland, said the Christmas period is an ideal time to reflect on those who have helped others.
“A nomination is a simple way to say thank you,” he said, adding that AXA staff in local branches are available to answer any questions about the process.
Further information is available at www.axa.ie or from the AXA branch at Dillon Terrace, Ballina.
