Settled and cool conditions to persist across Mayo

Freezing temperatures will greet the county in the New Year, according to the latest forecast.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30

Remaining cloudy with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle at first.

Mostly dry for the day in general, with brighter breaks developing through the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees in light to moderate easterly winds, fresher along coasts.

Staying largely settled with high pressure close by, bringing mostly dry but cloudier conditions overall with the odd patch of drizzle at times too but staying cold.

TUESDAY NIGHT:

Cold and dry with clear spells developing overnight in light easterly or variable breezes.

Fog or freezing fog will develop in places too with lowest temperatures of -3 to+1 degrees.
