Mayo mourns death of 'wonderful lady' Patricia O'Gorman

The death of Patricia O’Gorman (née Burke), formerly of Staunton’s Pub, Glebe Street, Ballinrobe, Cleveland, Ohio, and Taugheen, Carramore, Claremorris, is deeply mourned in Mayo.

Patricia passed away peacefully - surrounded by her loving family – at Friars Lodge Nursing Home, Ballinrobe yesterday.

She was loving mother of Dave, John Patrick (JP) and Imelda, daughters-in-law Lorna and Lily, and adored grandmother to Faith, Sophie, Emily, Finn and Jonathan.

Patricia is also sadly missed by her brother Seán, sisters Philomena, Helen (Nellie) and Colette, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and dearest friends.

Sympathy is extended to the O'Gorman family on their loss.

In a tribute, Ballinrobe Town AFC stated: "All of us at the club are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Patricia O’Gorman.

"She was a wonderful lady who loved nothing more than watching games and supporting the club whenever she could.

"It brought her great joy and pride over the years to watch Dave, JP and, in recent years her grandchildren Faith, Emily, and Jonathan, represent Ballinrobe Town AFC.

"We are thinking of them all during this difficult time, along with Lily, Imelda and the wider O'Gorman family.

"May her gentle soul rest in peace."

Patricia was predeceased by her husband John and daughter Yolanda.

Reposing at St. Joseph’s Funeral Home, Ballinrobe, on Thursday, from 5.30 to 7 p.m.

Requiem Mass takes place at St. Mary’s Church, Ballinrobe, on Friday, at 11 a.m. prior to burial in Kilbeggan Cemetery, County Westmeath.
