Tributes to former Mayo GAA club official Angela Ruane

The death has occurred of Angela Ruane, Cloongee, Foxford.

She died at University College Hospital, Galway, last Sunday after a short illness.

The deceased was a former official of Moy Davitts GAA Club

In a tribute, the club stated: "We are all deeply saddened at the news of the untimely passing of former club secretary, Angela Ruane.

"Angela was secretary in 1984 and 1985 and again in 2004 and 2005.

"She was a lifelong supporter of Moy Davitts with many strong family ties to the club through her brothers Michael, John and Gary and her many nieces and nephews who currently play with the club.

"May Angela’s kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam."

The deceased was a former member of the staff of Castlebar Fire Station where she was regarded as 'a wonderful and helpful colleague'.

Moy Davitts club members will form a guard of honour in club colours as Angela’s cortége departs Clarke's Funeral Home this evening (Tuesday) at 7 p.m.

Funeral will arrive at St. Michael’s Church, Foxford, on Wednesday for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Craggagh Cemetery

Angela will be dearly and forever missed by her brothers and sisters Michael, Maureen, John, Gráinne, Noeline and Gary, nieces and nephews, sisters in-law, brothers-in-law, and Andy, aunt Mairéad, uncle Martin, her many dear cousins, neighbours, work colleagues and many friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

She was predeceased by her parents Sean and Mary and her sister in-law Trish.
