Operation to tackle lurching in south Mayo

A multi-agency checkpoint operation to tackle lurching has taken place in south Mayo.

It sent out a message that was welcomed by local Councillor Patsy O’Brien who said lurching is a huge problem in the area.

The operation, which included the council’s dog warden, has been well talked about, he told a municipal district meeting.

And Councillor O'Brien has urged that the matter be kept on the agenda for the future as well.

The IFA has previously also highlighted concern about dog control and the practice of lurching in the area.
