Josie Mongan will be fondly remembered in Mayo

The death of Josie Mongan, Kennedy Gardens, Castlebar, and formerly The Grove, Ballindine, is widely mourned.

She died peacefully in the wonderful care of Cuan Caitriona Nursing Home, Castlebar.

Warm tributes have been paid Josie who was a loyal and popular member of the staff of the former Hynes Shoes Shop, Main Street, Castlebar, for many years.

One stated: "She was such a fun loving, affable lady and great company to be around."

Another said: "Josie was a wonderful lady and always such fun."

A further tribute observed: "A lovely, kind and caring lady who was always so thoughtful and helpful."

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Delia, sister Kathleen, infant sister Mary and nephew Gregory, she is survived by her sisters Bridie McDonagh, The Grove, Ballindine, and Sheila Coughlan, Springfield, Castlebar, her many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.

Sympathy is tendered to the bereaved family on their loss.

Interment took place in Ballindine Cemetery todayafter Requiem Mass in St. Joseph's Church Ballindine.
