Mayo Nollaig na mBan celebration a sell-out

The second Lahardane Nollaig na mBan celebration has been held in Murphy’s Bar.

The event was a complete sell-out with a cancellation list in place.

Guest speakers on the night were Maria Walsh, Teresa O Malley, Dr, Maura Irwin and the main sponsors of the event were Atir Shapewear - represented by Rita and Nicholina Mylette.

Such was the demand that the committee decided to organise an afternoon tea and yet again the tickets for this event sold out in a matter of two days.

Chairperson Mary Finnerty said: "As a committee we are overwhelmed with the interest and demand but we are very passionate about our traditions particularly the tradition of Nollaig na mBan being ‘kept alive‘ and celebrated again - particularly in rural Ireland.

"We look forward to doing it all again in 2027."
