Serious overcrowding problems today at Mayo hospital

Up to 29 patients are left without beds at Mayo University Hospital today.

A total of 13 are on chairs or trolleys at the centre's emergency department while 16 are in wards elsewhere.

Nationally, 565 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 380 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 185 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital
