Traffic backups at busy west Mayo junction

TRAFFIC is backing up at the N59 junction on the Quay Road in Westport.

Councillor Peter Flynn has requested a safety scheme at the location.

It's a busy road, with lots of pedestrians and 'chaos' during the summer, with traffic backed up out the Leenane Road and blocking the West Road, said Councillor Flynn.

A solution is needed, he told a municipal district meeting.
