Water burst impacts homes in Mayo county town this evening

A BURST water pipe is causing disruption in Castlebar this evening.

Hundreds of houses on the Turlough Road and Pontoon Road area are impacted following a major pipe burst on the old Turlough Road, Councillor Ger Deere has reported.

Uisce Éireann crews are working on site to repair the burst.

Councillor Deere said it is hoped to have supply restored later tonight.
