Temperatures to rise with unsettled conditions on the horizon for Mayo

Rain and drizzle to hit the county tomorrow after an end to the icy spell, according to the latest forecast.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7

A mainly cloudy start with outbreaks of rain and drizzle gradually moving eastwards through the day, breaking up as they do.

Brighter spells in the west later in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees, with mostly light westerly winds, backing southerly through the day.

Less cold than as of late, but with a return to more unsettled conditions as low pressure takes hold again.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:

Any rain or drizzle in the east will clear, giving way to a mostly dry night apart from a few coastal showers.

Some rain and drizzle may push into parts of the southwest and south too.

Some frost is possible with lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees, with mostly light to moderate westerly winds.
