Mayo hotel shortlisted for gold medal people’s choice award

Breaffy House Resort has been named as a finalist in the Gold Medal Hotel Awards 2025 People’s Choice Award – Ireland’s Favourite Place to Stay, putting the Mayo hotel in contention for one of the most sought-after accolades in the Irish hospitality sector.

The People’s Choice Award is unique in that it is decided by the public, with all hotels, country houses and guesthouses that have reached finalist status across the Gold Medal Awards automatically entered into the category.

Finalists are broken down by province, with the top property from each province to be revealed on the night of the awards ceremony, which takes place on January 27 at the Galmont Hotel & Spa in Galway.

From those provincial winners, one overall national winner will be crowned and take home the People’s Choice trophy.

Public voting opened on Friday, December 5, 2025, and will remain open until January 23, 2026, giving guests and supporters the opportunity to back their favourite place to stay.

The nomination is a significant recognition for Breaffy House Resort, which is one of Mayo’s best-known hospitality destinations and a major contributor to tourism and employment in the county.
