Mayo trial for online platform linking communities with public representatives

A new online platform developed in Mayo is set to link communities with their elected public representatives.

A world first, Constituency.ie is having a pre-launch trial in Foxford ahead of being rolled out nationwide.

Local businessman Jason Howley is the founder of Constituency and is well known in his work providing digital marketing to companies across Ireland.

He was joined by local Councillor Neil Cruise for the 10-day pre-launch in Foxford, which got underway on January 2, to gather feedback from local people before a national roll-out.

Constituency.ie is the world's first constituency platform, which lets local people create private and/or public cases with their local councillor or TD and follow clear communication and progress.

Whether you're a concerned citizen or a dedicated representative, the platform makes it easy to submit, track, and resolve private and public issues quickly and transparently.

It brings order and clarity to the way people raise issues and the way representatives respond, replacing scattered emails and messages with one secure, verified route and a clear record of acknowledgements and progress.

On the Constituency website, CEO Jason Howley sets out: “Our mission is to make communication between people and their representatives simple, secure and visible.

“Citizens use Constituency for free and can submit private or public issues and follow real progress. Representatives can acknowledge within eighteen to twenty-four hours and provide clear updates so everyone understands what is happening.

“We are guided by transparency, accessibility and trust. Constituency combines the clarity of government design with the ease of modern digital tools.

“From the first submission to the final outcome, every step is straightforward, accountable and respectful of public service values.

“The platform begins in Ireland and is ready for use worldwide, adapting to local practice while keeping strong privacy and security standards.

“Public issues can gather verified support through petitions. All data is protected on Irish hosted infrastructure with GDPR alignment and ISO 27001 in progress.”

The Foxford launch, he said, will help refine a simple and secure model that can scale. The goal is to provide a single trusted route for verified submissions, timely acknowledgements, and transparent updates.

The benefits of Constituency were highlighted by Councillor Cruise who said that a single place for cases allows him to acknowledge within 18 to 24 hours and to keep a clear timeline of progress for residents.
