Top Mayo club to host series of high-profile League of Ireland friendlies

Westport United have confirmed a strong programme of pre-season fixtures at Abbvie United Park as part of their Winter Series, with several high-profile visitors set to arrive in the coming weeks.

The action gets underway on Saturday, January 17, when Sligo Rovers face Treaty United with kick-off scheduled for 2 p.m.

On Friday evening, January 23, Sligo Rovers return to Westport to take on UCD, with kick-off at 6.30 p.m.

The Winter Series finishes on Saturday, January 24, when Sligo Rovers will line out against Galway United for the annual Adam Mulchrone Memorial Cup with a 2 p.m. start.

The series provides local supporters with a valuable opportunity to see League of Ireland Premier and First Division sides in action ahead of the new season, while also offering Westport United another chance to showcase Abbvie United Park to the wider footballing faithful.
