Rain and windy start before brighter spells for Mayo tomorrow

Tuesday, January 20, will start cloudy across Mayo, with wet and windy conditions moving northwards through the morning.

Rain will be heavy at times, particularly early in the day.

A clearance is expected to follow during the afternoon, bringing drier conditions and some sunny spells.

However, showers or further outbreaks of rain are forecast to push northwards again later in the day.

Highest temperatures will range from 5 to 9 degrees, with fresh to strong and gusty easterly winds, easing as the rain clears.

The national forecast points to unsettled and mixed conditions, with showers, longer spells of rain and breezy weather expected at times.

Conditions will remain breezy on Tuesday night, with scattered showers or more persistent spells of rain and limited clear spells.

Lowest temperatures will fall to between 2 and 6 degrees, with moderate to fresh and gusty southeasterly winds.
