Rain to spread across Mayo as unsettled conditions continue

Mayo is set for a largely unsettled day on Wednesday, January 21, with rain becoming more widespread as the day goes on.

The morning will start mostly dry across much of the county, though a few isolated showers may occur.

Rain will then spread northwards into Mayo from late morning and through the afternoon, continuing for much of the day.

Conditions will turn breezier as the rain arrives, with southeasterly winds strengthening to moderate or fresh.

Highest daytime temperatures are expected to range between 6 and 8 degrees.

Looking further ahead, the national outlook remains unsettled for the remainder of the week, with frequent spells of rain forecast.

Wednesday night will be cloudy and damp, with widespread outbreaks of rain persisting across Mayo.

Some isolated heavy downpours are possible.

Overnight temperatures will drop to between 2 and 7 degrees, coldest in western and southwestern areas of the county, with light to moderate southeasterly or variable winds.
