Mayo county town mourns passing of Barry Guthrie

The death has taken place in the Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, of Barry Guthrie, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, and formerly of Fr. Meehan Place, Castlebar.

A son of the late Mickey and Marie Guthrie, news of his passing has evoked a great sense of loss in Mayo's county town.

He is survived by his Liz, sons Aaron and Stephen and grandchildren Amy, Michael and Caoimhe.

Predeceased by his parents, he is also sadly missed by his Aaron’s partner Hannah, Stephen’s partner Éilís, brothers Kieran and Cory, sisters Pamela and Sandra, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and his wide circle of friends and work colleagues.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

The deceased was a member of the staff of Dublin Airport.

Tributes on social media have described Barry as 'a kind hearted, fun loving gentleman'.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge, on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.

A Funeral Prayer Service to celebrate Barry’s life will take place in Cunninghams Funeral Home, Celbridge, on Friday at 10.30 a.m. followed by burial in Donacomper Cemetery, Celbridge.
