North Mayo community share transformative plans for pier redevelopment

Crossmolina Community Council CLG has welcomed a major step forward in plans to renovate the pier area at Lough Conn, following the award of funding from the 2025 Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 2 Community Benefit Fund.

The funding has allowed the community group to progress to the design stage of the project, with proposed plans for the redevelopment of the popular lakeside amenity now completed.

The regeneration of the pier area is expected to bring significant benefits to the wider Crossmolina community, enhancing access to Lough Conn and improving facilities for residents and visitors alike.

Stating on social media, Crossmolina Community Council CLG said it was delighted to reach this milestone and looked forward to advancing the project to its next phase.

The group said the transformation of the pier area will be a major boost for the locality and thanked the Oweninny Wind Farm Phase 2 Community Benefit Fund for its support in helping to bring the plans closer to reality.
