Sadness over death of retired Mayo machinery yard staff member

The death of Michael Murray, Derryharriff, Castlebar, has evoked a great sense of loss in the community.

Widely known and respected, Michael was a former member of the staff of Mayo County Council's machinery yard.

The deceased has been described in social media tributes as 'a true gentleman who was always friendly to others and wore a lovely smile'.

Predeceased by his wife Anne Marie, parents Bridie and Patrick and brother-in-law Desmond Kilcoyne, he is deeply regretted by his sisters Mary, Margaret and Bridget, brothers-in-law Tony and Desmond, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Michael will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, this evening (Thursday) from 5.30 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Requiem Mass takes place on Friday at 11 a.m. with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
