Mayo team for Cavan clash is announced

After relegation from the top flight last year, Mayo begin their quest to return to Division 1 of the LGFA Lidl National League this weekend.

The opening game sees new manager Diane O'Hora take her team to Kingspan Breffni Park for a clash with hosts Cavan on Sunday (January 25) at 2 p.m.

O'Hora and her selectors named the following team for the contest: L. Brennan; É. Ronayne, D. Caldwell, L. Wallace; E. Brennan, C. Needham, L. Hanley; A. Geraghty, E. Murray; A. Kennedy, A. Staunton, T. Needham; M. Reilly, S. Walsh, S. Delaney. Charlestown's Ella Brennan captains the team.

Cavan, Division 3 champions last year, will prove to be tricky opponents. The primary aim may be to stay afloat in the second tier but if they can get something from this encounter, they’ll start to believe that another promotion push is possible.
