Official launch of popular 8km Mayo event takes place
The 2026 Turlough fun run and walk will take place at Turlough House on Sunday, February 15, at 12 noon. This is the 14th consecutive year of the event and is open to all ages. The run is registered with Athletics Ireland and will for the first time in its history be chip timed, and results will be available here.
The walk element, alongside the virtual element, are also options available to participants, which have proven to be a great success over the past number of years.
The event is organised by Mayo Mental Health Association (MHA), Parke-Keelogues-Crimlin GAA Club, the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life and Mayo AC. The organising committee is made up of Frank Cloherty, Patrick and Niall Dunne, with input from staff members of Mayo MHA, Yvonne Kilcullen Events, Turlough Museum, and Mayo AC.
For those taking part, they are asked to tag any photos/videos over the weekend using the hashtag #moveformayo.
Monies raised will go to supporting Parke-Keelogues-Crimlin GAA club, alongside funding different community projects and mental health initiatives across Mayo that is driven by Mayo Mental Health Association.
