St Gerald’s edge out St Jarlath’s to book place in all-Mayo final
St. Gerald's 1-11
St. Jarlath's 1-10
St Gerald’s booked their place in an all-Mayo Connacht GAA Post-Primary Schools Senior A Football Final against St. Muredach's after edging past St Jarlath’s by a single point in difficult conditions in Bekan last night.
The Castlebar school led 1-6 to 1-2 at half-time after Jack Diffley’s goal and a strong scoring burst from Evan Walsh provided breathing space for the boys in blue.
Jarlath’s mounted a late surge in the second half, inspired by Kian Gilmore’s two-point frees, but missed chances in added time proved costly.
Gerald’s held their nerve in the closing moments to seal a deserved 1-11 to 1-10 victory.
