Cloudy with patchy rain across Mayo on Tuesday

Tuesday, February 3, will bring another largely cloudy day across Mayo, with patchy occasional outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle.

Highest temperatures will reach between 6 and 8 degrees, while moderate to fresh easterly winds will gradually ease as the day goes on.

Looking to the wider picture, low pressure positioned to the southwest of Ireland will continue to drive unsettled conditions this week.

Further spells of rain are expected, with the most persistent and heaviest rainfall affecting the south and east of the country.

With ground already saturated, river levels high and tides elevated, there is an increased risk of flooding along rivers and in coastal areas.

Tuesday night will remain mostly cloudy with further patchy rain and drizzle.

However, some clearer spells may develop to the southwest later, allowing mist and fog to form.

Overnight temperatures will fall to between 1 and 5 degrees in light to moderate easterly winds.
