Mayo confirm return to senior inter-county camogie

Mayo Camogie County Board have confirmed that they have entered a senior team in the forthcoming National Camogie League. The team will play in Division 3B of the league.

The board have appointed Peter Dooley and Des Joyce as joint managers for the season ahead. Both have been involved with hurling and camogie in the county for over 20 years.

Dooley and Joyce will be assisted by Noel Burke and Jenny Houlihan.

Team management have assembled a 30-player squad and they have been training since the beginning of January.

Mayo will play their first game away to Louth on Saturday, February 21.

Looking forward to the league, joint manager Des Joyce confirmed: “We are delighted to have our county team back competing in national competitions again.

"The response from the girls in the squad has been really positive. They are delighted to be back, are training really hard, and are looking forward to the campaign ahead.”
