Mayo Women's Masters Cup semi-finalists decided

Ballyvary Blue Bombers, Claremorris AFC, Kilmore and Snugboro United all booked their places in the semi-finals of the Hurst Heating & Plumbing Mayo Women's Masters Cup last night (Tuesday).

On a tough evening for Ballyglass, they saw their A side lose out by 2-1 to Snugboro, with the B team falling 3-1 to Claremorris.

Ballyvary were too strong for Fahy Rovers, running out 6-0 winners, while Kilmore saw off the challenge of Castlebar Celtic with a 3-0 win.

Anne Reilly led the scoring for the Bombers with four goals to her credit, the last one a penalty, in a comfortable win over Fahy.

Claremorris had their three goals on the board by the 22nd minute via Gemma O'Neill, Emma Mullin and Caroline Conroy, with Sarah Keane getting a consolation goal for Ballyglass B late on in their game.

The ever reliable Annie Lynskey scored twice for a strong Kilmore side, the second goal coming two minutes after Castlebar Celtic had an unfortunate OG on the half-hour mark as the north Mayo team progressed to the next stage of the competition.

And just a goal separated Snugboro and Ballyglass A at the end of a well-contested tie, which saw two very early goals - one apiece - from Gillian Conway ('Boro), cancelled out almost immediately by Aoife Brennan for Ballyglass.

Maeve-Ann Gallagher scored was proved to be the deciding goal on 12 minutes, with chances created at both ends of the field but Snugboro holding out to take the win.

The cup semi-finals will be played on Tuesday, February 17, when the match-ups are Claremorris v Kilmore and Ballyvary Blue Bombers v Snugboro.

The date for the final is March 3.
