Fond Mayo tributes to 'lovely lady' Kathleen Flynn on her passing

The death has occurred of Kathleen Flynn (née O’Donnell), Ross East, Castlebar, and formerly of Bunowen, Louisburgh.

She died unexpectedly but peacefully at Galway University Hospital.

The news has evoked a tremendous sense of loss and sorrow in the community.

Predeceased by her cherished mother Bridgie (née Kneafsey) and her father Pat Joe, Kathleen will be forever missed and loved by her heartbroken husband John, her daughters Karen and her husband Seamus Devaney, Gillian and her husband Ronan Collins, Fiona and her husband Russell Gibbons, Tracey and her husband Darragh Ainsworth and her son Kieran and his wife Helen, her adored grandchildren Ethan, Caoimhe, Ryan, Josh, Adam, Lily and Elsie.

She will also be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her brother Paddy (Bunowen) and sister Peggy (Ballyhaunis), nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, all the family circle and her many friends and lovely neighbours.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their great loss.

Many fond tributes have been paid to Kathleen since her passing.

"She was one of life's true ladies, every time I met her she was so kind, lovely and always smiling," one stated.

"Kathleen was such a lovely lady, always kind-hearted, gentle and sincere whenever we met," another said.

"She was such a beautiful lady and always had a kind word," a further tribute observed.

Kathleen will repose in Kilcoyne’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar, on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, on Saturday for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m.

Private cremation service takes place afterwards in Shannon Crematorium.
