Plan to renovate and extend Mayo public house ahead of reopening

Plans have been unveiled to renovate and extend The Castle Inn public house at Castle Street in Castlebar ahead of its reopening.

A planning application is being made to Mayo County Council on behalf of proprietor Ger White for the works, along with revised front elevation, shopfront and layout to ground floor level.

The proposal includes the construction of two two-bedroom apartments at first floor level with an amenity area.

The premises has been closed for an extended period.

But news of a imminent investment represents a major boost for the location.
