Mayo-based priestess leads growing women’s temple community

A Mayo-based psychotherapist and trained priestess is leading a growing women’s temple community that blends ancient feminine traditions with modern life, drawing women from across Ireland and overseas.

Clodagh O’Connor, who lives near Westport, is the founder and priestess of the Temple of Sacred Remembrance, a ceremonial space for women rooted in embodiment, alchemy and deep remembrance of the sacred feminine.

Over the past year, more than 200 women have attended in-person and online temples, with gatherings held in Mayo and participants joining remotely from across Ireland, the UK and the US. In 2026, the Temple will continue to expand, offering seasonal in-person ceremonies alongside online circles and programmes.

“This work is about remembering the sacred feminine, not as belief, but as lived experience,” says Clodagh.

Clodagh works as a psychotherapist and couples therapist, and describes her temple work as a complementary but distinctly different offering.

“Psychotherapy is a deep tending of the inner life. The Temple is a remembrance and return to the ways women once gathered, through ritual, ceremony and embodied presence.”

Since its beginnings, the Temple of Sacred Remembrance has grown organically through word of mouth and social media. Participants describe the experience as deeply grounding and transformational.

One woman shared: “Clodagh is a safe and devoted guide. Sitting in Temple with her awakens something ancient in you and calls you back to yourself.”

The Temple offers women’s circles, retreats and online programmes to support and inspire women in embodying their unique expression of the Divine and remembering the gifts they came here to offer, while authentically embracing shadow and accessing the stillness within.

Through the Temple of Sacred Remembrance, Clodagh weaves deep therapeutic insight with devotional, embodied spiritual practice, creating ceremonial spaces where women can remember their innate wisdom, reclaim their unique expression of the Divine, and root more fully into their own lives.
