Mayo county town grieves passing of Gussie Bartley

The death has occurred of James Bartley (Gussie), 23 McHale Road, Castlebar.

He died yesterday in the wonderful care of the Greenpark Nursing Home, Tuam.

A member of a widely known and respected Castlebar family, news of his passing is deeply mourned in the county town.

Predeceased by his father John and mother Honora, his brother John and sisters Kathleen and Susan, he will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his nephews Richard, Jerry and Jimmy and his nieces Virginia, Michelle, Dawn, Pamela and Natalie.

Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

Requiem Mass takes place in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, on Friday at 11 a.m.

Afterwards, Gussie will be laid to rest in the family plot in Old Cemetery, Castlebar.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
