Two-year driving ban imposed on Mayo woman for motoring offences

A motorist has been disqualified from driving after failing to appear before Ballina District Court.

Jan Kanty Josef Dyczkowski, Coolcronan, Foxford, was convicted in their absence for driving without insurance and failure to produce insurance.

Garda Colette Farragher gave evidence of stopping the accused on the N26 in the Ballina area at 9.21 p.m. on July 27, 2025.

She made a demand for the defendant to produce a certificate of insurance or exemption within 10 days, which Dyczkowski failed to produce.

Dyczkowski has no previous convictions.

Judge Sandra Murphy said she was satisfied that the service of the court summons was good and that the facts in the case had been proven.

She fined the defendant €450 and imposed a two-year driving ban. Recognisances were fixed in the event of an appeal.
