Uisce Éireann crews responding to burst main in north-west Mayo
Uisce Éireann crews are responding to a burst which has occurred on a water main in the Tallagh area of Belmullet.
Crews are currently mobilising to site to locate and isolate the source of the burst, and repair works will begin this afternoon.
Customers in parts of Belmullet town and Tallagh may be experiencing low pressure as a result of this burst.
Traffic management will be required at Tallagh crossroads to ensure the safety of crews working to repair the burst, and the safety of road users.
Colette Scahill, Uisce Éireann water network operations manager, said crews will shortly begin their repairs and thanked customers for their understanding.
“This will be a complex repair which may require temporary water outages or reductions in pressure over the course of the day,” said Colette.
“We acknowledge the disruption caused by unplanned outages and we thank impacted customers for their patience as we work to resolve the issue.”
Uisce Éireann will keep customers updated as repair works proceed over the course of the afternoon.
