Dillon urges Mayo SME's to contact national enterprise hub for key business supports

Minister of State for Small Business and Retail Alan Dillon TD is encouraging Mayo SME’s to engage with the National Enterprise Hub as they plan for 2026, highlighting the service as a vital resource for businesses navigating rising costs, skills shortages and new sustainability and digital requirements.

Minister Dillon said: “Mayo is home to more than 9,000 SMEs across retail, hospitality, tourism, food and drink, manufacturing and services. Many of these businesses continue to face pressure around competitiveness and workforce needs. The National Enterprise Hub provides a single, practical route to identifying the Government supports available to help address these challenges.”

Operated by Enterprise Ireland and funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, the hub offers access to more than 250 Government supports delivered by over 30 Departments and State Agencies. Businesses can connect with trained advisors online here, by phone or via live chat, where they will be guided to the most relevant grants, funding options, loans, training and expert supports based on their size, sector and stage of development.

Minister Dillon said the hub is playing an increasingly important role for Mayo enterprises planning ahead. “Mayo businesses have enormous potential, and the Government is committed to helping them realise it. The National Enterprise Hub puts a wide range of practical supports at their fingertips—whether they want to expand, upskill, innovate or invest. By making it easier to access the right guidance and funding, we are empowering local enterprises to grow with confidence in 2026 and beyond.”

Donal Leahy, Regional Infrastructure and the National Enterprise Hub, Enterprise Ireland, said the service is designed to make support access straightforward for busy SMEs.

“Many SMEs in Mayo are focused on day to day operations and don’t always have the time to explore what supports might be available to them. The National Enterprise Hub simplifies that process by giving businesses a single point of contact and access to advisors who can quickly point them in the right direction.

Whether it’s funding, skills, energy efficiency or planning next steps, our role is to provide practical guidance that Mayo businesses can act on in 2026 to strengthen their competitiveness.”

The hub works closely with a wide network of enterprise partners including, local Enterprise Offices, IDA Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, Skillnet Ireland, Solas, Bord Bia, Microfinance Ireland, Revenue, the Department of Social Protection, SEAI, InterTradeIreland and the Western Development Commission.
