Mayo Tidy Towns group elects new chairperson

WESTPORT Tidy Towns has announced the election of a new chairperson.

Patrick Ryder was elected to the position last night and becomes the youngest chairperson ever to lead the organisation.

The honour of being the youngest chairperson was previously held by Peter Flynn.

Heralding a 'proud and exciting moment for our community', Westport Tidy Towns said: “Fresh ideas, new energy, and a passion for keeping Westport as the leading Tidy Towns organisation is just some of the wonderful things Patrick brings to the role.

“Westport has always thrived on community spirit, and this milestone shows how strong and forward-thinking our town continues to be."

Patrick will be assisted by vice-chairperson Paul Moody in an organisation that is rooted firmly in community commitment.
