A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has restored our faith in Westeros and the finale to season one did not disappoint.

Before you read on, there are spoilers in this piece if you are not up to date with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

In 'The Morrow', Dunk is racked with guilt following the death of Baelor in his trial of the seven.

Ser Lyonel Baratheon points out that the Targaryen prince should have been protected in the fighting, "snd the gods don’t favour a fraud".

Unlike the action packed penultimate episode, this one focuses on an emotional struggles as Dunk tries to decide what to do next as he is haunted by memories of his mentor, Ser Arlan of Pennytree.

Prince Maekar recognises the deep connection between Dunk and Egg, and offers the knight a cushy role in training the young prince in a castle.

However, Dunk decides he is done with princes.

When Prince Daeron tells Dunk Aerion had good in his heart befo) r he turned into a 'monster', Dunk appears to have a change of heart as he decides he could have an influence on Egg after all.

Maekar declines to let his youngest son become a hedge knight though, seemingly putting an end to the plan.

Mischevious as ever, the season finishes with Egg lying to Dunk about having his fathers permission to squire for him on the road.

House of the Dragon has a lot to learn from this Game of Thrones spin-off.

Dnnk (Peter Claffey) and Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) really stole viewers' hearts and we can't wait for season two.
