On Thursday February 19 the atmosphere in Castlebar was electric as the next generation of Irish innovators from Foróige, showcased their brilliance at the FIRST LEGO League Regional Final.

There was Mayo success at the prestigious event, held at the Breaffy House Resort, with ‘Ballina Lego Bots’ dominating their field to win the high stakes Robot Game.

Another team from Ballina, ‘Bots on Toast’ took home the Robot Design Award, whilst the Ballyhaunis team ‘Ballybots’ inspired the judges to win the Core Values Award, demonstrating the masterful teamwork and sportsmanship that define the FIRST LEGO League experience.

This was the second Foróige Regional Final, featuring 13 teams and a total of 128 young participants, who represented Foróige's commitment to creativity and STEM. The teams were proudly sponsored by MSLETB and the Local Youth Partnership Project.
