Gardaí appealing for information following fatal collision in Donegal

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a devastating two-vehicle collision in northeast Donegal.

​The crash occurred in the village of St Johnstone on Tuesday, 24, at around 11:15 pm.

​Gardaí and emergency services attended to the collision, which involved a lorry and a car.

​One male passenger of the car, who is aged in his late teens, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

​A second male passenger, who is also aged in his late teens, was transferred to Altnagelvin Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased some time later.

​The driver of the car, who is also male and aged in his late teens, was initially brought to Altnagelvin Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but was later transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

​The R236 road is closed for examination by Gardaí, although local diversions are in place.

​Gardaí are appealing for road users who may have camera footage, while travelling in the area between 10.45pm and 11.45pm, to come forward, aswell as anyone with any information that may help.
