Two new directors appointed by Mayo County Council in big management changes
Two new senior management appointments have been confirmed at Mayo County Council.
David Mellett has been promoted to the position of director of services of Infrastructure and Emergency Response.
He will be leaving his position as head of Castlebar Municipal District to take up his new role.
The post will have responsibility for marine infrastructure, smarter travel, machinery yard and building control.
His replacement at Castlebar Municipal District is due to be appointed shortly.
However, Mr. Mellett replaces Mr. John Condon, who recently retired, as director for the Castlebar Municipal District.
The chief executive of the council, Kevin Kelly, has also confirmed the appointment of Siofra Kilcullen as director of services for Corporate Services, Human Resources and Organisational Efficiency.
Ms. Kilcullen's directorate will have responsibility for arts and culture, health and safety, procurement, internal audit and organisational change.
The full breakdown of the new management team at the council, following the recent retirement of John Condon, has been confirmed and is as follows.
Catherine McConnell is now director of services for Housing and Town Centre Development.
Her management team includes:

Architects: Simon Wall
Town Centre First: Anne McCarthy
Capital Projects Delivery: Pat Staunton
Ballina Municipal District: Declan Turnbull
Ms. McConnell's directorate will have responsibility for derelict sites, URDF 3, conservation and heritage.
Joanne Grehan is now director of services for Planning, Economic Development, Environment and Climate Change.
Her management team includes:
Planning: John McMyler
LEO/Economic Development: John Magee
Environment and Climate Change: Ann Moore
Climate Action Regional Office: Carmel Kilcoyne
Regional Waste Management Office: Kevin Swift
Strategic Development Zone: Dominick Healy
Westport - Belmullet Municipal District: Seamus O Mongain
Ms. Grehan's directorate will also have responsibility for agriculture, cemeteries and biodiversity.

Mr. Gilligan's directorate will have also responsibility for sport and leisure facilities.

Human Resources: Kieran Joyce
Libraries: Austin Vaughan
Property: Julianne Gavin
Ms. Kilcullen's directorate will have responsibility for arts and culture, health and safety, procurement, internal audit and organisational change.
There will be a direct reporting relationship to the chief executive in respect of all matters relating to internal audit and organisational vhange.
Peter Duggan is director of Finance and ICT .
His management team consists of:
Financial Accountant: Olivia Heffernan
Management Accountant: Tracy Flanagan
ICT: Deirdre Lavelle
Mr. Duggan's directorate will have responsibility for motor tax.
