There have been memorable scenes of joy and excitement in Newport today as the town celebrates local store, Kelly's Mace, selling the National Lottery jackpot winning ticket worth an incredible €11,101,286.

It's the first big lottery win of the year in Ireland.

Michael Kelly, owner of Kelly’s Mace, was thrilled to celebrate the landmark occasion with his staff and customers.

The National Lottery revealed earlier today that the winning ticket was purchased at Kelly’s Mace at the Circle K Service Station on the Mulranny Road in Newport.
