Le Chéile Castlebar FRC celebrates International Women’s Day 2026
Le Chéile Castlebar Family Resource Centre is delighted to bring together women from all parts of the community to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026. This special event will take place on Friday, March 6, from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon, in the beautiful setting of the Museum Café area in the National Museum of Ireland at Turlough Park, Castlebar.
This is a joint project between collaborative partners across the community, reflecting the strong spirit of connection and inclusion in Castlebar. The organisers are honoured to welcome Councillor Donna Sheridan, who will officially launch the event.
Transition Year students from St. Joseph's Secondary School, will contribute to the morning’s celebrations with music and poetry readings.
Renowned mindfulness and meditation facilitator Maura Horkan will share her expertise and guide a mindfulness session as part of the morning’s programme.
The event will conclude with a performance by the recently formed One Town One Voice singing group, made up of people from all walks of life within the Castlebar community.
Project Manager with Le Chéile Castlebar FRC, Ann Conway, said:
“We are delighted once again to host a positive and uplifting morning to celebrate International Women’s Day. The theme we are celebrating this year is ‘Give To Gain.’
“This theme encourages support, generosity, and collaboration toward advancing gender equality — the idea being that by giving support, visibility, time, education, and opportunities to women, everyone gains in social and economic progress.
“This reflects our aim here at the FRC: to create opportunities for participation while embedding our strong community and family support ethos.”
The event promises to be an inspiring and inclusive celebration of women, community spirit, and shared progress.
