Mayo Young Sports Stars: Experts in the ring
The two boxing winners in The Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sports Stars Awards 2025 are both making waves on the international scene.
Michael Mullaney from Creggs, Balla, who boxes out of Claremorris BC, is no stranger to winning All-Ireland titles. In fact, despite his tender age of 15, he has won five All-Ireland medals already. He has also boxed to a high level outside the country, representing Ireland in the USA, Europe and UK tournaments.
Michael's talent shone in the international arena last. He emerged the winner of the gold medal in the international Box Cup tournament in Poland and was named best technical boxer for all categories at the same tournament.
Since 2018, when Natalia Fasciszewska won her first All-Ireland title, it has been a story of success after success. Indeed, many people feel the Castlebar BC member can reach the top in world boxing.
During 2025, along with her exploits at home in Ireland, she captured the European silver medal and had a great battle with the Olympic silver medallist.
While that was her outstanding feat to date, Natalia is expected to take on the world at her weight in the very near future.
Both Michael and Natalia will be presented with their awards at a gala ceremony in Breaffy House Resort on March 13. Tickets for the event are available now. For details, contact Aiden Henry on (087) 658 2141 or aiden.henry@con-telegraph.ie.
