Water supply restored in Castlebar after successful mains repair

WATER supply has returned to normal levels in the Pontoon Road area of Castlebar this morning after the successful overnight repair of a burst water main.

Uisce Éireann crews worked into the night to find and repair the burst, which had caused supply disruption to approximately 400 customers in the Pontoon Road, Ross and Crimlin areas on Wednesday evening.

Repairs were completed at 3 a.m. on Thursday morning and supply has now returned to normal levels.

Colette Scahill of Uisce Éireann thanked impacted customers for their patience and commended the crews who worked into the early hours to successfully repair the main.

“This was a significant burst which required crews to work long into the night in difficult weather conditions,” she said.

“We acknowledge the impact that unplanned outages can have on our customers and we want to thank impacted homes and businesses for the understanding while repairs were underway.”
