Interest in local bus service in Mayo county town

EARLY interest has been expressed in having a local bus service around Castlebar town.

A shuttle service has been introduced in other towns and it might take some of the traffic off the roads in the county town, Councillor Cyril Burke has highlighted.

A park and ride site would also free up space in the town centre, he added.

Councillor Burke, who raised the matter at a municipal district meeting, was told the council has had a number of interested parties looking to push this as well, and they are trying to move it on.
