Last call for entries for Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2026
MUSICIANS, singers, dancers and storytellers across the county are reminded that entries are closing soon for Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2026, which will take place in Ballina this May.
Hosted by Bofield C.C.É., the Fleadh returns to Ballina once again following the branch’s successful hosting of the event in 2025. The Fleadh Cheoil is one of the highlights of the traditional music calendar in Mayo and attracts hundreds of competitors from branches across the county.
Competitors are urged to submit their entries to their branch secretary as soon as possible, as all entries must be with the county secretary by Monday, March 16.
The programme of competitions will take place across the Fleadh weekend, with some events beginning earlier in the week.
Sean-nós and set-dancing competitions will take place on bank holiday Monday, May 4, in Ballina Arts Centre.
Céilí dance competitions will be held on Friday evening, May 8.
All other competitions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, in St. Mary’s Secondary School, Ballina.
Following the success of recent years, Cuimsiú, the inclusive competitions for performers with additional needs, will return again this year and will take place on Sunday, May 10.
A full programme of sessions, music events and community activities will run throughout the week, making the Fleadh a vibrant celebration of Irish traditional music, song and dance in Ballina.
Entry forms and full details are available on the Mayo Comhaltas website, and competitors are encouraged to contact their local branch secretary immediately to ensure their entry is submitted before the closing date.
