Mayo Young Sports Stars: Claremorris girl makes a splash

Take a look at the results of local, county, Connaught and national swimming championships for 2025, and one name keeps cropping up time and time again – Meadbh Burke.

The young Claremorris swimmer had a fantastic year in the pool and by all accounts is widely expected to make national headlines in the not-too-distant future.

For her exploits, Meadbh has been selected as the swimming category winner in The Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sportstars Awards 2025.

She will be presented with her award at a gala ceremony in Breaffy House Resort on Friday, March 13, where a big number of winners will be celebrated and recognised for their achievements.
