Status Yellow wind warning issued for Mayo
A Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Mayo as strong and gusty south-westerly winds are set to affect parts of the west tonight.
Met Éireann has warned that counties Mayo, Galway and Donegal will experience blustery conditions, particularly along exposed coastal areas.
The weather warning will come into effect at 6 p.m. this evening (Tuesday) and remain in place until 5 a.m. on Wednesday morning**.
According to the national meteorological service, the strong winds could lead to difficult travelling conditions, especially on coastal and exposed routes.
There is also a risk that loose objects may be displaced, while fallen branches or trees could occur in some areas as gusts strengthen overnight.
Motorists are advised to take extra care on the roads, while householders are encouraged to secure any loose outdoor items ahead of the windy conditions.
