Mayo-based Sensational Kids launches child-friendly ear defenders

Mayo-based Sensational Kids – the award-winning charity and social enterprise supporting children with additional needs – has launched its newest sensory product: Sensational Kids Ear Defenders.

Designed specifically for children who experience sensory overwhelm or noise sensitivity, these comfortable and child-friendly ear defenders aim to make everyday environments more accessible, calm and manageable.

“Many children experience distress in noisy environments, whether in classrooms, sports halls, playgrounds or busy public spaces,” said Dana Katz Murphy, clinical services Manager at Sensational Kids.

“Our new ear defenders provide a practical tool to support calm, focus and regulation throughout the day, helping children feel more engaged and in control.”

The ear defenders are lightweight, adjustable and designed to fit comfortably on young children. They offer effective noise reduction without isolating the child, supporting participation in activities while reducing stress and overwhelm.

The product launch aligns with Sensational Kids’ mission to make therapeutic supports more accessible and to empower children with additional needs. As a not-for-profit social enterprise, every purchase supports Sensational Kids’ subsidised therapy services for families nationwide.
