Padel courts plan for south Mayo tennis club

THE growth of padel tennis is continuing in Mayo.

Plans are in the pipeline to develop padel facilities at Claremorris Tenis Club, with the sport quickly rising in popularity.

Padel Sports 100 Limited has applied for planning permission for the removal of an existing shed and the installation of three modular, portable padel tennis courts (one single and two double), complete with artificial grass surface, at the club, on Dalton Street.

Each court measures approximately 20m x 10m and the system is designed to be a fully portable, non-intrusive installation. The structure can be fully dismantled and relocated at any time, leaving no trace or alteration to the underlying surface.

A report submitted to council planners said it is anticipated that total daily usage will be approximately 40 to 50 users per day, spread across operating hours.
